Lea T. in Italy
Lea T. is in Italy, for the first time ever, and she’s doing a model sharing event. She’s Slovakian, which I didn’t know. Of course, we recognize her from all the major sites under various aliases, most notably Lea Tyron and Judita A.. I can’t really say she’s more prominent on one site more than another. The last set of hers I put on The Nude Arts came from Domai. This week, the event is being held at the Villa di Azzate. I believe that is a short distance from Milan.
In addition to Lea T. being available to shoot, attendees will also have the opportunity to use a 600mm Nikon lens, under the instruction of Mauro Maratta. The chance to use $10k piece of equipment, alone, makes it worthwhile. Sr. Maratta is very close to the Nikon brand having founded and running one the top websites about Nikon products, in Italy.
He, the instructor, Mauro Maratta, is said to be either too old or too young, depending upon one’s point view. It was his mother’s passion for painting that got him involved in visual arts, and actually, it’s noted that he was too lazy to actually be a painter and instead took an interest in photography, initially, by taking Polaroids. Photography is his excuse to stay close to two other passions in life, cars and women, so naturally, he incorporates these things into his work, and the workshop will be no exception.
Attendees will have a Corvette, Nissan GTR, and Harley Davidson Sportster to shoot. So, how awesome is that? Not only do you have this hot, famous, blonde, nude model to shoot, but you’ve got some bad ass vehicles on which to shoot her. I’m not a big fan of girls and cars and motorcycles, etc., but it’s still totally cool.
Here’s a short video showing what the model sharing experience is like, more or less, from the perspective of a photographer. The model is Dasa.
I wasn’t aware Maratta was as involved as he was in this particular event, or I don’t remember, because I wrote about it, or a similar event, last year, for another site. Dasa, as you can see, is a long, leggy, Czech blonde, who has been modeling since age 15. She has appeared nude in most of the major magazines, including Penthouse. In the face, she reminds of Vega Vixen, though, I’m nearly positive that she wouldn’t do any of things Sandy became famous for. Lea, I suspect, is the same way. I’ve never seen her in any porn or erotic videos. That doesn’t mean there isn’t a video floating around out there, somewhere, just, I haven’t seen it. You’re not going to get erotic content at a model sharing event, anyway. Lea will be available, on site, for nudes, fashion and glamour. If you need erotic, you’re going to have to book the model yourself, so you see, the model sharing route is not the only way to go to get what you need for your website, portfolio, or private collection.

Anna T. Workshop in Lomardy
You’ll recognize Anna T. here from Watch4Beauty.com, most recently. I wrote about the set called Trunk. I loved the magazine cover. It was very creative and memorable mixing the erotic vision of her bare behind and exposed pudenda with the interesting angle of the sun and camera. The rest of the pictures in the set were uninspired. Anna didn’t come off all that well. How the rest of the pictures lacked the imagination of the cover is one of those mysteries of art. It’s all about taking that one memorable image, though, so, perhaps you can say it succeeded on some level.
I got an email about Anna T. today about a model sharing workshop in which she participated in Lombardy, Italy, July 2nd, 2011. I thought you guys might like to take a look at some real behind the scenes pictures of a nude art shoot which aren’t meant to arouse, like Pin Up Files thinks, but merely illustrate the process of a nude art shoot, giving you an idea of what a shoot looks like, especially when a model is being shared by multiple photographers. Workshops are much different from one-on-one shoots in terms of what a photographer can expect of the finished product. You can get time with the model alone, but if you’re looking to make a connection with a model in order to create art, you’re better off spending your time and money booking her yourself.
On the other hand, going to a model sharing event like this one can be a smart move if you happen to own a website and want to get a lot of pictures of a specific model, cheap, or cheaper than you can expect to pay for a full day of shooting. A lot of photographers don’t have sites and affiliates and marketing resources like Met Art, Femjoy, etc.. Therefore, there’s a good chance you’re going to be the only site publishing pictures of this model from this shoot on the Internet for mass consumption. Another advantage is that you don’t have to pay for the makeup or arrange for the location.
For instance, this shoot was done in a farmhouse/barn in the Italian countryside. Getting a location like that without local connections to the community, not to mention managing the logistics of shoot, the model’s travel and expenses, and the makeup artist, and assistants, is going to take up a lot of time and it’s going to cost you money. By the time you have everything scheduled it will probably rain the day of the shoot. When you think about it and look at this location, you realize that it’s not the kind of place you can scout without intimate knowledge of the area.
Why bother with all of that when you can give the organizers whatever fee they’re looking for, show up, and take some pictures minus the headache? It’s an economical alternative to buying nude art content from suppliers. Content that won’t be exclusive content anyway, unless you pay a considerable markup for the license to do with it what you wish. Alternatively, let’s say you’re just starting out in photography, like I am. You don’t think you’re ready to actually book a model like Anna T. and be as productive as you’d like to be due to your technical limitations.
A model sharing workshop is perfect for you to take your desire to photograph a young naked woman, take your new camera out, or whatever equipment you have, and have fun playing with it, trying different settings, angles, exposures, lenses, and just experiment. The environment is usually instructional, anyway, so there will be people around full of advice and tips, if a formal photography lesson isn’t scheduled in the first place. A lot of times, these shoots are done with a professional photographer, or master, who works with the model, explaining his process to attendees as he goes along. Usually, there is a theme like, glamour, or in this shoot, the theme was nudes using natural light. Afterwards, attendees are encouraged to apply what they heard during the lesson to the pictures they take during the model sharing portion of the day.
While there is an academic aspect to photography as a discipline that must be respected and that helps the amateur photographer understand the basics and theory of what they should want to accomplish taking pictures, photography is one of the only arts in which trial and error can be considered the preferred means of education. There are so many variables which effect a photo shoot which are too experiential in nature to be understood in a book. The best way to learn is to just do and discover your own style and preferred processes. These meetings offer amateurs the opportunity to meet other amateurs of varying skill levels and even some professionals, a great chance to network with other photographer with similar interests.

Nude Model Melisa
Just when you think Met Art can’t do anything right, they publish what might be the best set of
2011, so far. Melisa is a seasoned pro who really needs no introduction. Besides being on pretty
much every website, (she’s even on Hegre Art which means she’s on every site) she does workshops in
Europe for experienced and amateur photographers. What’s more, she even done some very erotic videos,
which I wouldn’t really expect; I never do. Still, it was quite an explicit sight, and a surprise.
She’s so exposed, she’s one of the models I look passed. Melisa has done everything, twice, and the
question is what hasn’t she done.
Then I get these pictures early yesterday morning. They really are quite stunning. We have a beach
at sunset. We have Melissa. Not to be trite, but we have a vanilla sky, with apricot,
champagne, and peach tints. If you’re mouth isn’t watering by just looking at the sky alone, you
need to get glasses. The terrain of the beach is dark, rocky, and clumpy. She’s standing on a
beach of chocolate coffee. In some images it appears the chocolate brunette has just risen from
her rich and sweet confectionery habitat. The cover is a wonderful image:

She notices us as she surveys her domain and with a smile extends an honest welcome. Her body
is clean; her complexion, lightly toasted. The makeup is visible, but not a distraction.
Clearly, she’s fit. While there is some chocolate on her feet, legs, and knees, she’s not
covered in it, slathered in sand as so many models end up in this type of beach shoot. It’s
just one feature of her environment. Though it is from where she sprang, it doesn’t engulf her;
distract us from her beauty, or mar the images with a crummy, begrimed aspect. Though she makes
her home in delicious morsels and crumbs of chocolate, on the shore of the ocean of milk, its waves
crash behind her, she’s spotless, more or less.

At times, she’s contemplative and meditative. However, she always responds to us and listens.
Her expressions range from very static and posed (almost to a fault), to interactive and inquisitive
as though she hears our questions about her, telepathically, and genuinely cares and seeko to
communicate with us, to the extent that in one image she places her hands atop her breasts in a
gesture which appears to say she has been charmed by our flattery. Like a beautiful bird, finally,
she poses for us in a display of humanoid plumage, and her wonderful legs take shape.
Melisa looks fantastic in these pictures. Actually, the last time I really noticed her was in a set
for MCN. And talk about fit…

She was absolutely ripped when she took these pictures. I think MCN did a pretty good job in oiling
her, giving her some texture and shine, while not giving her the appearance of a female bodybuilder,
that’s is too hard and not feminine in the way visitors to the site are expecting to see models.
She still has definition and appears toned in these new Met pics, but she has softened considerably.
I would imagine the goal for her would be to work out and be aerobic so as to not lose flexibility.

Richard Avedon workshop in Italy
I’ll write a little about a workshop in Piedmont, in Italy on February 5th.
This workshop is for learning about and understanding one of the most important
photographers of the last century. You can’t understand the evolution of photography
without understanding Richard Avedon. I wrote about him incidentally a few weeks
ago writing about a picture he took of Stephanie Seymour years back which ended up
on a cover of the French art photography magazine Photo. It’s interesting to think
about the days when photography and motion pictures were as new and revolutionary
as the internet. Of course, photography is quite older than the last century.
I guess you could say it revolutionized the 19th century: what a funny thought.
But it wasn’t till the last century, I believe, that photography became accessible
to amateurs so to speak. When something technical becomes so democratized
it’s whole essence changes.
So, Richard Avedon is considered a great innovator of photography, internationally,
but in the United States in particular. All you have to do is take one look at this
picture and you can tell among the things understood was the nude female figure:

Antonio Crisa will direct the seminar.
He has studied Avedon, and will assist participants in understanding the lighting
and style of the famed photographer. These meetings, seminars, workshops, call
them what you will are pretty good. Photography is really a hands on art form
which is easy to imitate, and theory only goes so far. For instance, lighting
schemes can be copied and utilized with little or no difference between images.
Technical arts are like that, meaning art which rely on standard instruments.
It’s more of a science than an art.
The model for this workshop will be the 24 year old Hungarian beauty, Dora.
She’s about 5’7”, brown hair, brown eyes, and I must say she has one fantastic
behind. So, she has to do artistic nudes in addition to fashion and glamour.
Her measurements are 35-25-37, which means she has a perfect body.

Alberto Buzzanca in Rome
The Italian nude photography contingency is bringing Alberto Buzzanca to Rome
in a couple of weeks, November 20, to direct a fashion and glamour workshop.
The model will be an Italian girl named Ely; The makeup artist, Eleonor Juglair.
Buzzanca started his career in photography doing fashion and pubblicity work, which
eventually took him to New York.
The plan is to just learn from him- watch him do two sets in the morning
and two in the afternoon, fashion/glamour, topless, and how to do a magazine
cover. Then workshop participants will have the chance to direct the model
with his expert help.

Tribute to Helmut Newton in December
Find out in this workshop in Milan on December 19th,
with photographer Edoardo Varotto and czech model Stana.
It should be a celebration of the German artist
and his 90th birthday. There will be videos, interviews, and unedited
photos of Newton’s work. The goal is understanding the style
of the past century, Newton’s particular style, by working with Stana.
For info regarding this just let me know.
This is Stana and I think she makes a great subject for any kind of
photoshoot as long as the styling is right. She’s a woman like any other
and too much styling can ruin the best natural beauty.
